At El Zócalo, we’re more than a food truck — we’re a family, and serving our community is something we truly love. ❤️
We started El Zócalo in 2022 with a dream, faith in God, and a passion for bringing people together over great food. As a Christian, family-owned business, we take pride in working hard, staying true to who we are, and creating something our family can be proud of.
Our name, El Zócalo, comes from the iconic Zócalo in Mexico City, a place that represents culture, community, and people coming together. Those same values are at the heart of our business.
We’re known for “Birria with a Twist” — taking birria and turning it into creative dishes like quesabirrias, birria ramen, egg rolls, and Hot Cheeto birria balls. We love experimenting, creating new flavors, and putting our own spin on something we love.
What began with one food truck in Topeka has now grown to two food trucks, serving both Topeka and Lawrence. We’re also proud to bring El Zócalo to your special moments through private catering, weddings, corporate events, celebrations, and more.

At El Zócalo, we believe the best tacos start with passion — and you can taste it in every bite. Our birria is slow-cooked to perfection, packed with authentic Mexican spices, and simmered until it’s melt-in-your-mouth tender.
